Diving packages in Layang Layang, Sabah, Malaysia

     Layang Layang, also known as the "Jewel of Borneo", has become popular as a diving destination in Eastern Malaysia since 1985. The island of Layang Layang is a coral atoll topping an underwater mountain coming from 2,000 meters of depth all the way to the surface.
     A minimum of running water on land, and the fact that Layang Layang is situated some 300 km off the coastline of the Sabah state of Malaysia, provides the island with an incredible combination of land and underwater life with visibility usually reaching 50 to 60 meters (170 to 200  feet)!
     Its remoteness and deep surrounding waters has made Layang Layang a paradise for wall diving and big pelagic sightseeing, and you can frequently encounter the big ocean pelagics like sharks, tunas, schools of trevallies and jack fishes, while drifting along a stunning wall covered with the most colorful hard and soft coral colonies.
     With time, Layang Layang has become one of the very best diving destinations in Asia.


     The Layang Layang Island Resort will welcome you in amazing tropical surroundings of 86 luxurious and spacious  teak spacious rooms, with air conditioned bedrooms, private facilities and showers, private verandah,  telephone, television, and fridge. The resort also has a 150 person capacity restaurant where excellent meals are served, in addition to a bar, and a lot of water activity equipment such as windsurfers, sea kayaks, and mountain bikes too.      Package includes: 5 Nights accommodation, 5 meals a day, 2 dives upon arrival, 3 dives per subsequent day and one dive on the last day before departure, tanks, weights and divemaster supervision.
     Extra: Flight from Kota Kinabalu in Sabah to Layang Layang (one hour flight), which costs 256 US$ per person for a return ticket, and airport taxes on Layang Layang (5 US$ per person), diving equipment rental if necessary and all air fares to Sabah.
     The best diving season is from February until October.
